A high-altitude motorcycle expedition into one of the most remote and dramatic regions of the Indian Himalayas. The Cliffhanger Ride is designed for riders who seek raw terrain, narrow cliff-hugging roads, deep valleys, and authentic mountain life—without compromising on safety, planning, or local expertise. Led by locals who know these mountains not as destinations, but as home.

Delhi → Dharamshala (Arrival)

Arrive at Gaggal Airport, Dharamshala. Meet & greet by the Rising Dust Adventures team followed by transfer to the hotel. In the evening, meet your fellow riders. The Road Captain will conduct a detailed briefing covering the route, safety protocols, riding discipline, and overall tour flow.

Dharamshala – Riding Boot Camp & Rest Day

A dedicated riding boot camp to prepare riders for Himalayan terrain. Focus areas include riding posture, brake control, cornering, and off-road handling. Mechanics will assist with bike adjustments. The rest of the day is free for acclimatization.

Dharamshala → Dalhousie (120 km)

A scenic mountain ride through forests and rolling hills to Dalhousie (~4 hours). After check-in, the evening is free to explore the local market or relax.

Dalhousie → Khajjiar → Chamba (80 km)

Ride to Khajjiar, the 'Mini Switzerland of India', known for lush meadows. After spending time here, continue the ride to Chamba Valley (~3-4 hours).

Chamba → Sach Pass → Killar (160 km)

Ride into the remote Pangi Valley, crossing the spectacular Sach Pass (4,500 m)—one of Himachal’s most thrilling passes. The landscape becomes increasingly rugged as we descend towards Killar (~6-7 hours).

Killar → Sural (90 km)

Ride deeper into Pangi Valley through isolated villages, waterfalls, and exposed cliff sections. This stretch defines the Cliffhanger Ride experience (~5-6 hours).

Sural → Tandi (160 km)

Ride on the legendary Tandi–Sansari Nalla–Killar route, one of the most demanding roads. The Pir Panjal range accompanies you. Reach Tandi, the confluence of Chandra and Bhaga rivers (~7 hours).

Tandi → Manali (70 km)

Ride through the iconic Atal Tunnel (9.2 km) and enter Manali (~4 hours). Evening free to rest or explore the town at a relaxed pace.

Manali – Rest & Leisure Day

A full rest and recovery day. Riders may relax, enjoy cafés, take short walks, or opt for light local sightseeing. Acts as a buffer for any previous delays.

Manali → Dharamshala (240 km)

Early morning departure by private vehicle (Road Transfer). The route passes through Kullu – Mandi – Palampur, following the Beas River before ascending towards Dhauladhar. (~7-8 hours).

After breakfast, transfer to Gaggal Airport, Dharamshala, as per flight schedule. End of services.

The best time for high-altitude Himalayan expeditions is between June and September when the mountain passes are open and the weather is most favorable for riding.
Yes, you should be comfortable riding a 350cc+ motorcycle on mixed terrains. We recommend at least 1-2 years of regular riding experience, especially for mountain routes.
We have designed the itinerary with a dedicated acclimatization day. We also carry oxygen cylinders and basic medical kits. Staying hydrated is key.
We provide a mix of comfortable 3-star hotels, premium guesthouses, and swiss tents (camps) depending on the location, ensuring hygiene and comfort throughout.
